Rabid Perfume debut album by Skunk in the Roses

"Rabid Perfume" is the debut album by Skunk in the Roses. The nine track collection showcases the artist distinctive blend of theatrical rhythms and campy melodies. Notable tracks include Sad Sad Vampire (in the movie Mister Sister) Catch Me If You Can (in the movie RUFUS), and Thrilling Night, each highlighting the artist's flair for storytelling and musical innovation. Available on most streaming platforms and for purchase on coral colored vinyl.

"Revenge of the Rouge" (released April 2025) is a bold cinematic single that blends Parisian Cabaret with pulsing electro-glam. Set in the magical world of The Blushing Beret Cabaret, the song tells the story of a backstage beauty whose enchanted rouge makeup unleashes her long awaited revenge. It's perfume, a little punk, and payback all in one unforgettable burst.

"SHU-GRRR” is a danceable Marie Antoinette dystopian sugar-rush set in an alternate universe where an epidemic has turned craving into culture. In this world, people would fight you for suggesting they cut sugar out...even as it quietly destroys them. The hooky lyrics spiral like an addiction mantra: “Oh I just can’t get enough… give me sugar in my cup… people need air to breathe, I need sugar in my tea.” It’s glossy, funny, and unsettling with sweetness as a survival instinct gone feral.

"Vampire Triste - The Sad Sad Vampire Remixes" where the original song splits into parallel nights. DIN (Pupka Frey of Digital Poodle and Rational Youth) shapes two versions with bright synth textures and a retro-leaning drive. Mantra Move, out of London, stretches the track into dub-inspired space, letting the rhythm breathe and haunt. The pattern interrupt still hits, it just hits in different rooms.

"Phantom Scent” is a sleek, city-night dance track that trades a big chorus for pure beat driven momentum. The lyrics pop in like flashes, more mantra than monologue. The premise is a Skunk in the Roses signature twist: getting sprayed becomes an awakening, not a disaster. “Once it hits you baby you know it’s true, it’s just a skunk making you think a thunk." Perfect for a TikTok montage with over 2,500 uses to date!

“Circadian Showgirl” (released in 2023) is a glitter-trance warning disguised as a dance track. Born from the feeling of loving glam but resenting the way the world demands it 24/7, it turns performance into a survival loop. The digital showgirl morphs to please, never disagrees, never says no, and never stops sparkling. It looks like empowerment until you get closer, then you realize it is a mirage.

Rat Race” is a surreal, upbeat escape fantasy born in real Los Angeles traffic on Thanksgiving Eve. It starts in gridlock and irritation, then cracks open into something strange and angelic as the chaos lifts the character right off the road. The track balances playful hope with a darker edge, channeling the shiny lift of Grease and the pressure-cooker tension of Falling Down. Its mantra says it all: “Life is a Rat Race well, baby you won’t Rat Race me!

“Put Your Face On” (released in 2024) is about choosing glamour as a lifeline, not a mask. It draws from the Elizabeth Taylor idea of using lipstick to "pull yourself together", and carrying on, then adds one more step: dance your troubles away. “Put your face on and wear it like it’s Paris, put some bass on and dance it like a romance” turns the ritual into a release. It is a brave face with a beat behind it.
