The costumes here range from being made in 2015-2019. I released my song “Circadian Showgirl” in 2023. It was a commentary about always having some place to be (especially right after the pandemic) and at this stage of my life people just expect me to bring it in clothing and costume. The pressure to always bring the sparkle (even if I don’t feel like it). Because that is just MY life, even though I am indie and don’t have a bazillion dollar budget. I made these costumes for work, a movie I was in, and an album cover. If I made new NOW I would use featherless or digital boas. I chose to lean into this aesthetic even more the past few years because I knew things were going to get too dystopian feeling coming up and I wanted to bridge the two worlds. I do feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief now that the mainstream has finally started to shift back this way. Maybe every other TT video will stop telling me how inauthentic I am for choosing to incorporate sparkle and aesthetic into my life. Baby.. I am the “Sparkle” in my life. I have been through the uncanny valley awkward point of AI. So while the world really does shift even MORE over to that soon.. (and it will) I know exactly how and when to integrate these tools. More coming. Thanks for watching! 🦨🌹 You can peep my song Circadian Showgirl on Bandcamp.
